Cambridge International moves A-level results day forward to 28 July from 2027
Earlier June results give school leavers more time for university places and visas, and match OxfordAQA's new date.

Cambridge International Education will release results for its June 2027 AS and A-level exams on 28 July 2027, almost two weeks earlier than usual. The exam board announced the change on 3 November 2026. This year's June results came out on 11 August.
The change covers AS and A levels only. June results for IGCSE and O level keep their usual dates, as do results for the March and November series and the deadlines for post-results services.
Cambridge said schools, pupils and families had asked for earlier results. The extra time lets school leavers confirm university places, enrol, apply for visas and book travel. In some countries, pupils will be able to start university in the same calendar year, which the August date ruled out. Universities get longer to review applications and confirm offers.
"Releasing results earlier gives students more time to sort out their next steps," said Rod Smith, group managing director of international education at Cambridge. He told Tes that AS and A levels come first and that Cambridge will look at its other exam series over time.
School reaction
Rita Hayek Maalouf, director of the Cambridge School of Bucharest, called the move "practical". Romanian universities often open admissions in July and early August, she said, and their deadlines were "sometimes impossible for students to meet". She added that the new date sits closer to the IB Diploma, whose results come out in early July.
Wayne Johnson, director of the Cambridge International School of Bratislava, said earlier results should ease anxiety for pupils whose grades disappoint. The drawback is staffing: results will now land in the middle of the summer holidays. He called the change "a positive thing overall".
OxfordAQA's matching date
Cambridge's rival board OxfordAQA announced in April 2026 that its international AS and A-level results will also come out on 28 July 2027, with international GCSE results on 4 August.
Some international schools enter pupils with several boards. Dulwich College Singapore, for one, lists Cambridge, OxfordAQA and Pearson Edexcel among its exam boards. The Prospectus guide to A levels explains how they compare with the IB.
