About Jakarta Japanese School
The Japanese overseas school in Bintaro, South Tangerang, opened in 1969 and certified by Japan's Ministry of Education. It teaches the Japanese national curriculum in Japanese from kindergarten (age 3) to the end of junior high school, with English and Bahasa Indonesia taught as languages, and had 677 elementary and junior high pupils in April 2026. Only Japanese nationals can enrol, and the parent's employer, or the parent, must belong to the school's support association.
